Apple Crisp with Truvía® Calorie-Free Sweetener

Ingredients

Filling:

  • 4 cups (1L) apples, sliced

  • 12 cup (125 mL) water

  • 1 Tbsp (15 mL) + 2 14 tsp (11.25 mL) Truvía® calorie-free sweetener spoonable*

  • 2 Tbsp (30 mL) all-purpose flour

  • 112 tsp (7.5 mL) ground cinnamon

  • 12 tsp (2.5 mL) nutmeg

  • Nonstick cooking spray

*or 6 packets Truvía® Calorie-Free Sweetener

Crisp:

  • 1 cup (250 mL) rolled oats

  • 1 Tbsp (15 mL) + 214 tsp Truvía® calorie-free sweetener spoonable*

  • 14 cup (50 mL) all-purpose flour

  • 112 tsp (7.5 mL) ground cinnamon

  • 14 cup (50 mL) butter, melted

  • 112 Tbsp (22.5mL) brown sugar

  • 18 tsp (.62 5mL) salt

*or 6 packets Truvía® Calorie-Free Sweetener

Directions

  • 1.

    Assemble all ingredients; preheat oven to 375° F (190°C).

  • 2.

    For filling, place apples in a large bowl; sprinkle with water, Truvía® sweetener, flour, cinnamon and nutmeg; toss to coat the fruit.

  • 3.

    Spray 9-inch baking dish with nonstick spray; place apple mixture in dish.

  • 4.

    For crisp, in a separate small bowl, combine oats, Truvía® calorie-free sweetener, flour, cinnamon, melted butter, brown sugar and salt; stir to form crumbly mixture.

  • 5.

    Sprinkle crumb mixture on top of apples.

  • 6.

    Bake 35–40 minutes until apples are tender.

Optional Suggestions
  • 7.

    Pairs well when served with light vanilla ice cream.

  • 8.

    If desired, peel and mash apples. Will reduce fibre content.

*This crisp has 180 calories and 10 grams of sugar per serving, compared to 250 calories and 27 grams of sugar per serving in the full-sugar version.
